LiHeap- Utility

Payment Program

LiHeap assist low income and elderly persons with their utility bills. Clients must call in for appointments to complete applications, which are usually normally conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am to 3:00pm in Franklin and on Wednesdays from 8:30am to 12:00pm in Patterson. Documents needed at time of Appointment: Current ID; Social Security Cards for everyone in households; Proof of Income; twelve months of light an gas bills; and proof of residence. FAMILIES

FOOD for FAMILIES is designed to help elderly residents and moms with children ages 0-6, of St. Mary Parish, receive USDA Commodities through Catholic Charities of LA, which includes a number of food items. Pre-Registration is required; on--site income verification conducted on walk-ins for those who have not registered for eligibility cards. Elderly Feeding

As an outreach to the elderly residents of St. Mary Parish, the agency provides them with nutritious meals twice a month- once on the East end of the Parish in Morgan City and once on the West end in Franklin. he agency’s Neighborhood Service Centers oversee the feedings. The Service Centers also are available to assist elderly citizens with a variety of services including assistance and referrals to other needed services.
